SIRIO PANEL, controlled by SELEX Communications, a Finmeccanica Company, has signed a contract with ATR (joint venture formed by Alenia Aeronautica, a Finmeccanica Company, and EADS) to develop and supply the "Cockpit Integrated LED Lighting System" to equip the new ATR 42-600 e ATR 72-600 series. Cockpit Integrated LED Lighting System (CILLS), based on the latest LED (Light Emitting Diode) technologies, is an essential part of the interface between pilot and the aircraft general systems. The system supplies and regulates the illumination of the Cockpit/Flight deck areas. The system, composed by a set of control panels, lights and power supplies, is part of a modernization program of the aircraft and its avionics suite, aimed to enhance its performances and reliability and decrease weight and power consumption. This contract represents a continuity of the two decades cooperation with ATR for which SIRIO PANEL is committed, other than the supply of the illuminated panels, also to the supply of the cabin and navigation lights, recently developed with the same technology and that will also equip the new ATR 42-600 e ATR 72-600 series. In February 2008, AIRBUS awarded SIRIO PANEL of contract to develop and equip its A350 XWB with Integrated Control Panel and Cockpit General Illumination System based on the same technologies now selected by ATR. SIRIO PANEL is today an important player which operates in the aerospace segment providing high tech equipment and onboard components. The company produces aerospace equipment for top-level aircrafts and helicopters including the Eurofighter, JSF, A400M, C-27J and the AgustaWestland helicopters.
